It's an American tradition, plus children going to strangers' homes and accepting lollies, etc is a big NO!

A Grinch? Or a caring human being who does not like to see people exploited by others? Just another case of people being presured into conforming to threats and comercialism.

It's connected to Samhain which is a season. So as per most things seasonal, it's the opposite end of the year for Australia. If we were serious about it, we'd have it around February sometime.
