Well if you ask me i prefer the movies than reading the book from cover to cover ....but i also need the movies to be good quality .....not the rubbish we are seeing these days ...and quality slowly eroding into thin air .....

Very few films stay true to the book or story that inspired the film maker.

Reading allows you to imagine your own characters and surroundings. Movies often fall VERY short on characterisation in particular. As an avid reader I have been disappointed so often with a movie version.

Well it depends. Some books are loads better than the movies, (Great Gatsby, Enders game, the girl with the dragon tattoo, etc), some movies are better than the books (Mean girls, Jurassic Park, Jaws, etc) and some are on par (Gone girl, Hunger Games, etc) But then it's all a matter of opinion.
