I am a low income worker due to health conditions.

If I had the choice I would take the compulsory super and spend it on other things.

But then I would have nothing when I retire. ...

Super is loaded with fees - they eat up most of what you put in if you have a low income or you're only working part time. I'd rather make use of it than donate it to a super fund.

DUH!! if you are on a low wage by the time you pay all the bills and fuel (for cars for work) and eat there's not much left over to voluntarily give anyway it would only work IF you were allowed to deposit whatever you could afford
YES I agree with voluntary Super

The people least able to manage money most need super - mostly this is low income earners. Like me. Sure my super will never suport me for long - but it could get me out of jam.

Low income workers are the most vulnerable, and cannot afford to put aside money from an already low pay packet.
