Being 40 and single, I've noticed there's a huge increase in people calling themselves "polyamorous". I think I might be a dinosaur still believing in the fairytale love story.

Could not agree more with your statement.
Do not think that the dinosaur moniker fits though for a moral compass and ethics.

Yes, yes, yes - I think that is the only way you fall in love - it just hits you straight away!

Nope. You can't love someone (as a partner) until you spend time with them. If you love the appearance of someone when you first meet, it's called physical attraction. You cannot possibly know what someone is like (and thus the reasons why you adore them) from sight alone.

Even as a mother seeing your newborn varies. Sometimes love at first sight, sometimes just relieved exhaustion.
