its biggest flaw is it does not take the persons skeletal make up into consideration or the fact that muscle weighs more than fat for the same volume.

At my so called 'healthy' range BMI I feel weak and look gaunt.

At my army fighting weight 30 years ago I would have had a BMI suggesting that I was obese.
