Girls can be real nasty to the one who is "different" . Jeans or jeans was the thing when daughter was a teen. She was the feminine type - silk and velvet mostly. But the steelcaps for bush excutions kind of shut them up.

I was bullied because I was considered stupid (it was not known I had dyslexia) so I did not learn to read until I was 14, I was hopeless at most subjects, so not only did my fellow students bully & torment, so did the teachers, one teacher would constantly pick on me to tell her the time, knowing full well I could not tell the time, the day I finally did, she sneered "It's about time you stupid girl&q...

Oh Georgina, what you had to persevere with is truly horrendous but I have to say I totally admire your resolve. "Bloody well done". A lesser person wouldn't have achieved half of the things that you have. Be loud and proud, you deserve it. You're an absolute inspiration!

How stupid were those people for calling you stupid. Dyslexia is almost always a symptom of high ability. But a need to learn differently. Both of my kids are dyslexic to different degrees. Daughter explains to people that she is almost 30 and still does not know which hand is her left and which her right, but has managed to be a 1st degree honours unit grad, when she thinks it will help them or their children.

Both of my children also went through it, son by his "best mate" in grade 1 - I had them separated to opposite sides of the class, as it only happened when no one else could overhear. Daughter also has a "SO!" attitude and was then left alone. Son was again bullied ...

Its occurred on the play ground, in the office, playing sport, out at the pub or shopping.
A lot of people don't even seem to understand what bullying is, like domestic violence - that's bullying regardless of which gend...

Yeah I was bullied as a kid, that was over 60 years ago and guess what, I lived to tell the tale.
Unfortunately the kids of today and recent times live in a cotton wool world, nurtured by either their parents or teachers and encouraged not to stand up to bullies.
I found away around the problem that didn't involve violence or ...

I became friends with those that were bullied. We helped each other.
