Do you agree the Federal Government were negligent in making a Covid plan for Aust. Government-subsidised residential aged care facilities considering the death toll is now over 563?

Richard Colbeck, the Minister for Aged Care & Senior Australians stated that cleaners, cooks, reception or office staff weren't taken into account when considering staffing in the event staff caught Covid, they only considered the nurses. The Prime Minister knew about Covid since Februrary giving plenty of time for a plan to be put in place, instead there were elderley patients waiting for hours to be fed, showered, given medication etc., even loved ones were told their parent was fine when in fact they had already passed away and were lying in their bed all day due to lack of staff and the next of kin were not told until the next day. People have spoken only last week that things have not improved making one wonder why Scott Morrison has not sacked the Minister involved. Scott Morrison should take full responsibility himself for the 563+ deaths in Victoria's Aged Care & the shambolic state these facilities are still in, as he is the Prime Minister of Australia.

We're dealing with a (hopefully) once in a lifetime pandemic. While there would have been plans in place for a generic pandemic, the virility of COVID-19 has taken everyone by surprise. No way anyone could have predicted how fast this travelled around the world and the devastation it would have caused.

Judging by the number of people baying for Daniel Andrews' blood on this issue, may I suggest it's not really a Federal responsibility but a state one. Or is Dan just a convenient target because so many people (including the Victorian State Opposition) are now desperate to lay blame. The situation with aged care is a disgrace and a terrible tragedy, whoever IS to blame.

Yes I firmly believe the government could and should’ve done more to prevent their deaths.

Aged Care owners are the main culprits with their excessive Cost cutting measures like nursing staff thus ignoring the standard of care they profess to provide
