How long before you'll have to wait to get the COVID jab?

By Glenda . Created on 21 Mar, 2021
My local GP said they have a 5 month Waiting List before I can get the COVID vaccination. So I rang another Clinic who said they haven't been allocated any stock yet. Both of these practices are listed on the Govt Website advising this is where I can get my COVID vaccination. How long will you have to wait?

Both my husband and I have had our first Astra Zeneca dose. Neither of us suffered any ill effects.
Not sure I’d be able to say this if either of us contracted Covid.

I really want to do more research on this, atm the negativity around blood clotting and complications especially as I am a Type 2 Diabetic and I also have mild Asthma, but worsen over the colder months

Pauline thanks for your reply. I agree with what you are saying about complications. I do know that my 2 daughters have had their 2nd Pfizer injection because they are both nurses. Hubby had the Astra 3 weeks ago. All had no complications however my GP has suggested that I wait for a while until there is more information and I shall go with what she says. Take care of yourself and have a great week. B.

Hello Tanya and thanks for your reply. Of course if you have health issues it is understandable that you would feel this way. I have spoken to my GP today and she said to wait for a while for the same reasons. Take care of yourself. Have a great week! B.

When it comes. I'm lucky to be living in Oz where people aren't dying (currently).

I do wish the Johnson and Johnson one was available as it is just one jab (I hate needles) but that is another topic.

Hello West Swan and thanks for your reply. I too will be getting mine I think next week. I do not know about the Johnson and Johnson vaccine however as although it is just one there are coming out some negative comments about this. However, then again the vaccine I will be getting is Astra and they too have negative comments. Talk to your GP. I know people who do have a fear of needles and it is very common....
