Same as Becci below - More skills that kids will use in everyday life (cooking, budgeting, doing a resume, volunteer working, etc), and less Calculus, religion or Pythagoras theory. Make them electives instead.

Agree with lifestyle skills - but higher maths are undervalued - sometimes being the only person in the firm with these skills can get a bright young woman jobs ahead of the boys in a male dominated industry - once she finally gets her foot in the door. Daughter is a case in point.

Discipline comes down to the parent I believe. If the parent can not control there own child then some thing some where is a miss, possibly by people like you, expect the teacher to be the parent so you don't have to be.

To have a subject that is relevent to everyday living, budget learning how to budget, insurance - what is good and whats not etc.
