many people are in dire circumstances right now; unfortunately there will always be some people who do their level best to rort the system; this applies to many well-off people also, who are able to 'hide' money in trusts etc, then claim a part pension !

Why have they been on newstart for 6 months. Have they met the criteria for getting this payment and have their circumstances changed in the last 6 months. Have they been employed then let go in the last 6 months.

Do people trying to live on Newstart for less than 6 months need the $550 increase the same as someone that’s been on Newstart for over 6 months, of course they do, their both in the same boat and it’s sinking!

Its rediculous to ask such a pathetic question snd i bet you have not ever had to try and survive off benefits. Its near fucken...

those who didn't have a job before the crisis should not need extra support; it should go to those who have either lost their job, or had hours severely cut back.
