With the lessons learned up to date. Nuclear power is probably the safest and cheapest way forward that the Australian economy could in the very least , entertain the idea.

More danger for radiation beside a coal-powered plant as it is a concentrator of radioactive elements. Baseload power would be far better for the planet as nuclear than fossil fuels. Well made modern plants are very safe. They can still be located in remote areas if people are worried. An accident is only a short term localised event. Fossil fuels affect the whole planet long term.

We are worried about future debt to the young. This debate has far more serious consequences. At last count it was over $60 Billion to build such a plant so our gvt (us) would heavily subsidise some o/s multinational (just so they could potentially poison us all). I have a friend who is an Aviation Engineer and he explained that a nuclear power plant is really like a big steam engine and as such, not very efficie...

Why would anyone say Yes to this. How many accidents around the world with these plants either caused by natural events or man made errors. It is not clean when their are accidents and then released into the air or sea or on the land. A definite no.
