Should Australia start using nuclear power?

By Damien . Created on 15 Jul, 2019
We export 10,000 tonnes of Uranium annually to other countries. It is a cheap source of energy once reactors are built and there are no emissions except for steam. However it does pose risks and we would need to store the nuclear waste somewhere!

Yes. But first we need to educate the public that think we would build the same sort of plant as they did in Chernobyl in 1986.

Definitely. We have a third of the world's uranium, but don't use it!
And for the fear campaigns, few people realise that more people die each and every year in coal mining accidents than in 2 decades of nuclear power. People don't properly understand risk vs reality

Why shouldn't we be able to have cheaper energy costs. It's either nuclear or clean coal as renewable energy is to costly and unreliable.

There is no clean coal, it still burns and adds carbon. And read up onnuclear history or watch the latest truth show Chernobyl
