Should Australians stranded in India be brought back home ASAP as the Federal Gov. has had over 12 months to build purpose built Quarantine Facilities?

By Olivia . Created on 04 May, 2021
When people from India become Australian they have to give up their India citizenship, meaning they can't have duel citizenship. All other countries around the world Canada, United States, UK etc. have all brought their citizens back from India with the exception of Australia. If you had a loved one currently stranded in India would you want your Government to do everything they can to bring them home? 'Blood on your hands': Cricket icon Michael Slater SLAMS 'disgraceful' Scott Morrison for blocking stranded Aussies in India from coming home - as top doctor warns Aussies could die in the Covid-ravaged nation.

The federal government has and always had the responsibility to supply proper built-for -purpose quarantine facilities. They shirked this responsibility in the same way that they shirk any responsibility. All they are interested in is lining their own pockets and those of their backers, and pork barrelling their way past the next election. The massive cost to society and our economy that has resulted from their abje...

They either chose to stay in the Country when Covid first hit, or they have travelled over there since, either way, they wanted to be over there so why should the rest of the Country take the risk on bringing them back now. The old saying, they've made their bed, now they have to lay in it.

Australian citizens are stranded all over the world. The current government has been useless in getting them home, despite VIP fleets sitting there getting rusty. Getting people home from anywhere, including India, is well overdue.

This is tricky, if they opted to stay overseas when ALL citizens were requested to come back to Aus, some 12 months or more ago they made a choice. choices have consequences. Plus if they applied to travel after our borders were closed then I guess they should have weighed up the pros and cons. I don't believe all Aussie citizens should be put at risk, but at least other countries, including us are supporting India ...

They went HOME and overstayed the Governments warning to return to Australia ASAP so they decided their own fate by ignoring the warning-and many went after the warning at their own risk. We also had dead and dying relatives but we abided by the Govt warnings !!

Australians who were overseas at the start of the pandemic were all told to come home then. If they chose not to, then that is their problem, not the Australian Governments. It was announced on the news last week that since February 2021, over 50000 people have left Australia with most travelling to India. Well as far as I am concerned, they went there...they stay there.

If they're Australian citizens why are they in India in the first place, collecting a pension here then going back to spend it there !!! Most importantly, how long have they been there and how often have they then traversed between both countries in the past 12 months & now find themselves stuck???
