It is not a disease. Behavioural problems should be sorted out other ways, not medication.

Medicine is the only way to overcome this unless you want an abbusive kid. My brother has ADHD and doesn’t take any meds for the reasons down below eg meds should be a last resort. But just know you are in for a long roller coaster of emotions and it hurts you long time and the people around you. I would not like adhd to be misdiagnosed for the sake of wanting a child to conform to the norm. with medication.

There are lots of options to try first. Change the child's diet. Special aids, Teachers who are educated teaching ADHD kids.Set routines.

Yes but you really do need to explore your options and let medication, not be the only option, it really helps but doesn't need to be strong dosage, children don't need to be sedated, discipline and love and the right medication for the specific individual. Definitely needed to be modified as they grow up and hormones come in to play. Good luck
