Should Donald Trump be banned from Twitter & Facebook forever for inciting violence & posting false information?

By Grace . Created on 07 Jan, 2021
As Twitter, Facebook & Instagram is a privately owned service people should not expect that just because someone is the Prime Minister of a Country they can't be banned because they continually broke the terms of service, when many people are banned for the exact same thing. To have the right to use these site you must commit to the terms of service when joining. It has nothing to do with free speech or Big Tech as some would have you believe.

Unless businesses and people start to critically analyse output from Trump and like individuals then more violent protests can be expected. Adherents and others are not going ignore Trump messages despite warnings that utterances are lies. While censorship is not a universal good there are situations where it is warranted. The world is violent enough without one of the most powerful persons inciting extreme actions.

I do believe that he should have been monitored long before this however on saying this there is so much of people on these sites that get away with bullying etc. With regard to Trump he definitely has made a laughing stock of the normal American people. I too wish Joe Biden all the best as it is going to be v...

Thanks for your message Salzman and a Happy New Year to you. Indeed it does go against free speech. I would have to say that in his case he needs to be monitored and not only him but others that incite bullying etc. Take care. B.

When the exercise of this enshrined "right" is so patently abused then it is time to restrict the "right". History gives a lesson from Hitler's Germany that when there are no checks on viral propaganda evil prospers.

It was so satisfying to see that all of the social networks did this, as well as banning a lot of other users spewing the same BS .
