No. Teach your child the virtue of patience and it will benefit them in the future as adults. Too many parents are ready to hand off their responsibilities to everyone else or expect everyone around them to pander to the child. Teaching them the importance of respect and patience will give you the ability to travel and go out more. If they need to be babysat, then people will enjoy looking after them. ...

Maybe airlines need to put rules in place for Airline etiquette so everyone can follow them, as its not just the 5yo that throw food, kick seats & cause trouble. If they can turn the plane around for someone not paying attention to the flight staff giving the safety instructions then they can do the same for the people who do not follow the rules for airline etiquette. With the 5yo issue maybe arrange there to b...

I actually wouldn't have any issues travelling next to children if their parents instilled some discipline, but I've noticed a distinct shift in behaviour over the past few years. I've been kicked in the back of the chair, plagued by screaming (not just babies but older kids), thrown up on (luckily just my shoes but it was still revolting), and generally appalled by bare feet on the backs of seats, ta...

Thanks Sherree for your message. I loved that in the message was cargo hold and that got a good laugh from me. There definitely has been a shift in behaviour over the years. It became acceptable, I feel, when the hostesses do not have the power to say anything. They never did really it was just the look that was given. Now this does not happen and they tend to let people get away with it. It is the parents res...

Exactly CC, also some kids would become anxious and want to be with their parents. I think for the majority of people not a great idea.

Would be a good idea, however it could be really tough on whoever gets landed with the row directly next to the under-5s area! I think it would need to be separated a little bit from the rest of the passengers. Other issues would be that logistically you could never be sure how many seats would be needed and therefore there could be seats wasted, or people without kids could end up sitting in the under-5s area to us...

Thanks Natasha for your message. Logically you are correct and in saying this I would love it to happen but not be the person in the seats in the under 5's area. lol Take care. B.

Yes. There is nothing more annoying than having some child kicking the back of your chair or just plain being rude. The further away from me the better. Before anyone goes on I have a 11 year old granddaughter as well as 2 children. None of these were any bother while travelling.
