I would never own a cat as they are the biggest killers of Australian reptiles and birds, sending many to extinction. All cats should be registered, neutered, micro-chipped and kept indoors with big fines for people that don't comply.

Animal shelters have a range of breeds you could choose from. These animals once had a home and are waiting to be re-homed. Definitely animal shelter.

Yep. But currently my housemate (who is the homeowner) has a huge dog that is quite possessive of his home. (He also protects me and his son and is gentle with us)
