Working for an airline, it's essential to always be early. One minute late and your 'office' could've taken off.

It's more professional to arrive early also it allow you to relax before any appointment. You never know if a delay is round the corner so better be prepared. I hate being late.

To me (being an early riser anyway), being early gives me time to settle before any appointments, plus I don't feel rushed!

I am always an early starter and never been late with appointments unless there is an emergency that has impacted my schedule. I find it very inconsiderate for people to be late in meetings and appointments

I prefer to be early, doesn't matter is it's 5 or 10 minutes or more. It is easy to sit down and wait. If you are late you may miss your appointment/plane/whatever. Also, it is just common courtesy to be at least on time. (although there are many, many doctors who could use a lesson in courtesy, I often have to wait for up to an hour after my appointment time)
